Fish Day

Time : 09h00 - 17H00
All recreational fisherman, dads and kids
• Fish and fishing. Responsible environmental behaviour - the day begins with these discussions. An awareness talk - how to become good fisherman and understand the ecosystems that support fish - the offshore, coastal and inland ecosystems - keep them all healthy!
• Wetlands protection
• Go out to fish - A Dad and son "reel" fun expedition will take place to enjoy and to teach our children responsible fishing.
Time:  9h00 - 17h00
At the "Culinary Shed" Thesen Harbour Town. Preparing and cooking fish - new ideas - chefs preparing fish combining beautiful fresh bio diverse products from the market for tastings. Imagine you could get your prescriptions from your local suppliers and restaurants? In fact that is how it should be. If menus were designed with ingredients that contained healing powers, as some do - then would we need doctors and/or medicine?
The best food products are on show, can be tasted, tested and purchased. All of this can be enjoyed in a fun environment with food with integrity, art, music, food puppet shows, mime characters, dance and song.
Demonstrations: As an introduction to each demo - Chris - Seafood Safari will explain
o How to clean fish - sparingly
o How too fillet fish- sparingly
o Show variety of fish - Knysna
And Peter Greeff from Saasveld University will give tips on-
• Products from the region to compliment fish - what to look for
• 10h30 – 11h30  Fish for Breakfast

We are hearing more and more about the importance of food in our diet.
"Eat yourself to health" this is what Patrick Holford says. But then of course we have to know what to eat, how to prepare and where to buy all this wonderful fresh, healthy food on a daily basis so that we can reap the benefit of the availability of the food.
This day is supported by Robberg heating and cooling and Seafood Safari.
