Moments Communications and Events

FLORA, FASHION AND FOOD-1

GASTRONOMICA 2005, taking place between 23 September – 2 October 2005 in Knysna will start the weekend off with a bang with a glitzy occasion called Cuisine-Couture-Couleur, on Saturday, 24 September at 18h30 at The Culinary Shed, Thesens Harbour Town . The evening guarantees to give one a taste of a night at Fashion Week in Milan .

Not just any fashion show but a fusion of funk, food, flora and fashion and all that is encompassed while vibrantly accompanied with the 4 electrifying colours predicted by Plascon Paints to be the hottest colours in 2006/2007. P resented by world colour expert Anne Roselt, Roselt is a woman whose successful career has followed her love of colour and its potential to bring joy and healing to people’s lives.

Four vivacious and varied themes are complemented with invigorating music and dance while being ended with 3 breathtaking showstoppers. Cuisine-Couteur-Coleur is a dramatic sneak preview of the next season’s vibrant colours. Lime green is embodied by Feisty Forest - cool, peaceful, mystical, while orange is emblazoned with Citroen Sunsets making up two spectrums of this intriguing colour quartet.

High end fashion labels from top South African Fashion Houses for this extravaganza will be produced by talented Lizell Ferreira. Local Knysna brands such as Hyannis Port, in keeping with the GASTRONOMICA philosophy of being natural and original, will proudly be displayed on the ramp. Clothing by Nanine du Plessis, former J&B Met Designer of the Year winner and owner of Nanine Fine Wear and Nanine Vintage designs will form part of this performance. All her fabrics are imported and styled for the modern woman today. Another designer’s creations on show will be Natalie Becker, owner of “Frock”. Becker is currently one of the women been advertised by the Woolworths campaign for inspirational women of 2005.

Silwood-trained Chef Tammy Turner of Hungryheads Gourmet Foods in Knysna co-ordinates and prepares the production of a delicious colour co-ordinated 4 course dinner while local décor guru DP Ferreira, owner of Natural Floral Design rounds everything off with his lateralfloral and table decorations. DPhas a fine arts background and curiosity to always try and find something new and different making sure that he continuously creates floral designs that challenge the ordinary and surprise people.

Be it the social who’s who of the Garden Route, outrageous ingenuities by Knysna High School art students, creative cuisine, décor and fashion, this is a spectacular high end fashion extravaganza not to be missed and bound to take the fashion world by storm. Tickets are on sale with prices ranging from R120 – 150 per person.
