The Good Food and Wine show is Southern Africa's premier food, wine and lifestyle show. Held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre between 18 and 27 May this event showcases a bevy of South African Food entrepreneurs as well as bringing in many international celebrity chefs. The local foodies are offered an opportunity to "clash pots" with world class chefs, get shaken and stirred with some of the countries leading bartenders, and just generally having a good time enjoying fabulous food!
Bella Vita, a local Gourmet Mushroom company attended this event along with Mossel Bay Oysters and the Little Herb Garden- also from the Garden Route. Bella Vita won the award for BEST OVERALL NEW PRODUCT with their absolutely fabulous SHITAKE MUSHROOM PRODUCTS. They also got through to the nationwide Sunday Times food competition with their Lemon and Ginger Shitake mushroom chutney. Good Luck Cheech and Jules. Bella Vita Gourmet Mushrooms have a stall every Saturday at the Wild Oats farmers Market and their products include Chilli Salsa, Chutneys, Pestos, Olive Tapenade all using their organically grown shitake mushrooms.
